It's hard to affix anything—other than an upgraded component—to your beloved sport vehicle. However, in many states it is required by law to mount a front license plate to your vehicle. Fortunately, there are a few good options in the department of front license plate brackets. This DIY guide will cover the Top Flight Reproductions license plate installation.

Materials Needed

  • Alcohol wipes
  • 4mm Allen key
  • 10mm open end wrench
  • Phillips head screwdriver

Step 1 – Clean mounting areas

This bracket is adhered to the bumper via strong adhesive. It is important to clean and dry the mating surface before mounting the bracket. Using alcohol wipes, clean the underside of the front bumper where the bracket will be mounted.

Pro Tip

You can also use soap and water.

Step 2 – Test fit

Without removing the protective film, the bracket should be placed against the bumper to test the fit. To do this, align the center of the bracket with the center of the bumper.

Step 3 – Affix mounting bracket to bumper

Once you've practiced fitting and centering the bracket, it can be secured to the vehicle. Remove the adhesive backing. Then, carefully press the bracket to the underside on top of the front bumper. Slowly apply pressure, so the bracket makes good contact with the underside of the bumper. Remove wing nuts from under the mounting bracket to release license plate bracket.
