1963 Corvette Split-Window Coupe is White on Red Beauty

We could argue forever about which Corvette features the most iconic design, but we'd rather just drool over this fine '63 Split-Window Corvette.

Iconic Ride

Many would argue that the 1963 coupe is the most iconic of all Corvette designs. And sure, you can also argue against it. But we personally love the one-year-only split window, and that's enough to have us digging on this white beauty that recently crossed the virtual block at Bring a Trailer.

Middle Ground

This certainly isn't the most original or rarely-optioned example of a C2 out there, but that's a great thing for someone simply looking to rock the car's fantastic styling without breaking the bank.

Few Caveats

The car was repainted in its original Ermine White hue back in the 2000s, but it also features ghost flames painted on top of the front fenders. There is some orange peel, so this isn't a perfect job by any means.

Old Rollers

Another knock would be those tires, which are said to be 20 years old. But given the fact that this car was passed on to the owner's widow, that really isn't a huge surprise or a difficult fix.

Nicely Trimmed

The red vinyl interior is in very nice shape, with no major defects to note. There are a few aftermarket additions including the wood-rimmed steering wheel and a set of 6x9 speakers in the back.

Aftermarket Additions

The previous owner also added an original-style Delco radio, air conditioning (always welcome), and a Hurst short-throw shifter. None of which are negatives in our book.

Low Miles?

The instrument cluster was also refurbished at some point along the way. The odometer reads just 36k miles, but the seller notes that the actual mileage can't be verified.

Proven Combo

Under the hood, you'll find a replacement CE-stamped 327ci V8 that's been fully rebuilt. It sends power back through a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission to a 3.36-geared Positraction rear end.

Minor Updates

During the engine's rebuild, a more potent camshaft was added, along with new spark plugs, points, condenser, and coolant. They also performed a timing adjustment and A/C service.

Perfect Driver

This '63 most certainly isn't perfect, but it'll make someone a fantastic driver for the reasonable $76,500 sales price. And truthfully, we'd rather have that than some priceless, perfect ride we'd be afraid to drive!
