Satisfying and Mesmerizing

There's something oddly satisfying about cleaning anything, particularly a car. After all, most of us can't stand driving around in a dirty vehicle, or one that's anything less than pristine in every way. But watching the professionals at WD Detailing clean up the 1974 Corvette barn find in this new video is truly next level, as it's both satisfying and mesmerizing to watch.

Long Term Storage

This particular C3 Corvette sat in a barn for 34 years before WD was called in to help restore its original shine by the owner, who originally purchased it back in 1982. After driving the Corvette for a few years, it was parked inside a barn in 1989 and left there, for decades, accumulating all kinds of dust, dirt, rodent droppings, and other crud along the way.

Extreme Transformation

Most would never go to the trouble of saving a non-chrome bumper C3 like this one that's so far gone, but the car has sentimental value for the owner, which is precisely why he wanted to undo the damage he did by letting it sit for so long. Thus, the team removes it from its long-term resting place and brings it to the shop for an extreme transformation.

Massive Damage

What happens next is nothing less than pure magic in action. WD first starts vacuuming out all of the nasty stuff inside the cabin and cleaning up the exterior by giving it a wash, which is precisely when they discover that rats did more damage than originally thought.

Inch by Inch

Regardless, this doesn't dissuade the team, which just keeps scrubbing and cleaning until they reveal a shiny paint job underneath those layers of grime. Piece by piece, inch by inch, they go through the entire vehicle, front to back, restoring everything to a nice luster.

Lengthy Process

This process is obviously incredibly time consuming, and requires removing quite a few parts such as the luggage rack, wheels, parts of the engine bay, and much of the interior. However, when it's all said and done, the results of that labor clearly speak for themselves.

Stunning Result

If one didn't know any better, you'd never imagine that the crusty-looking Corvette is the same as the one that emerges from WD's shop when this process is complete - they just did that good of a job. The car obviously still needs some work, but this is one of the most stunning automotive detailing results we've ever come across, without a doubt.
