By the Ocean

Located adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean, this Corvette gathering has to be among the coolest in the country. And for the past 28 years, the Jersey Shore has been the host of the event sponsored by Boardwalk Corvettes of Atlantic City. A seemingly endless train of Corvettes by the beach is quite a sight.

Bad Weather and All

And although New Jersey weather in the early days of Fall did not lend a helping hand for the show, hundreds of diehard Corvette owners and enthusiasts, young and old, made it out and put on a show.

Hundreds of Vettes

According to the event's organizers, close to 500 Corvettes were originally registered for the show, but the rain played a part is keeping a few of them away. Still, the massive number of attendees and participants blew them away.

Despite the Rain...

Co-chairman of Boardwalk Corvettes Carrie Dickinson was pleasantly surprised by the turnout. “On a day like this, it is incredible we had this many people,” Dickinson said. “It is a huge event. It’s a lot of fun. We do it for people to have a great time with their cars and to raise money for charities.”

For a Good Cause

Though the Jersey Shore has been made famous in mainstream media in recent years for questionable choices, the Corvette Show is certainly one of the shining highlights for the area and a more accurate representation of its people. It's beautiful to such a cool event with a great cause behind it. The proceeds from the Ocean City Corvette Show will be going to charitable organizations in Ocean City and the Jersey Shore area.

Community

One such charity is the Ocean City Humane Society. Representatives from the organization were present at the show, as well. A board member and volunteer of the charity, Jim Root expressed his gratitude, remarking that regardless of the funds raised, it was great to see the community come together for such great causes.

Boardwalk full of Corvettes

The hundreds of Corvettes lined up on the Ocean City boardwalk between 6th and 14th streets as American Sports cars of all generations turned a rainy day into an awesome Corvette kind of day, keeping the 28-year-old tradition going strong.
