5 Eyepopping Corvette Outdoor Ads

Chevrolet has done some really cool ads over the years spanning across print, billboard, TV, and internet. What better way to advertise an open top sports car than with giant outdoor billboards? Here's a handful of our favorites.

1. The Car that Started it All

For part of the Chevy Runs Deep campaign, Chevrolet put up billboards in various cities covering the range of vehicles in the lineup. In that campaign was every model of the iconic Corvette, in all its iterations, to display just how long the car has been gracing our bedroom walls and running though our dreams.

2. Little Red Corvette

Based on the success of the Prince song Little Red Corvette, Chevy decided to take a jab at Swedish automaker Volvo. The Swedes have built quite the reputation for making cars that are geared towards safety, dependability, and comfort, but where is the passion? While safety is a very important factor that people should consider when looking for a car, no one has ever pondered writing a sexy song about a Volvo (Even though the 1800 from The Saint does have some sexy curves).

3. Tribute to a Musical Genius

Last year when Prince passed away, Chevy went above and beyond to show its gratitude to the musician who immortalized the Corvette in popular song. Chevrolet spent big, posting tributes on social media platforms Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, taking out newspaper ads, as well as buying this billboard near the Corvette assembly plant in Bowling Green, among other locations.

4. No time for breakdowns

Porsches are undeniably cool, and great performances machines to own, if you have the coin to do so. On the other hand, they can be rather expensive to maintain and can't touch the reliability you'd find in a Corvette. Corvette is the car you want when you want to get up and go, as it is not just dependable but provides incredible performance numbers, at relative bargain price.

5. Nothing to hide

How did the Corvette get to where it is today with consumers? By putting everything on the table and being honest about what the car is, and what it can and can't do. Hood up, doors open, and top down, you are free to mill about and give things a once over, the Vette has nothing to hide. Well done Chevy.
