How It Started

The owner of Callaway Cars, Reeves Callaway, started his companies partnership with G.M. after developing turbo kits for BMW, Volkswagen, and Porsche. General Motors asked him to develop a turbo kit for the Corvette in 1987.

The C4 Callaway Corvette

From 1987 to 1991 the (RPO) B2K twin turbo option was available from the dealer. This option was available with General Motors' standard 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty. The option increased horsepower to 345 and torque to 465 bringing the top speed to 178 miles per hour.

The C6 SuperNatural Corvette

Callaway stopped using turbo chargers in 1992 with the implementation of the LT1. Instead, displacement was added resulting in up to 450 horsepower. Callaway also offered upgrades in braking, suspension, and exhaust to complete the package.

C7 Callaway Corvettes

Callaway has introduced performance packages for both the C7 and C7 Z06. Upgrades include a 32% larger than factory supercharger, high flow intake, and intercooler. The results are impressive. The LT1 engine rises to 627 horsepower/610 pound feet of torque while the LT4 will generate 757 horsepower/777 pound feet of torque!

The Callaway Sledgehammer

In pursuit of a land speed record, the Callaway team assembled a Corvette that would be entered into the history books. After developing a modified body and engine, the Sledgehammer achieved 898 horsepower and 772 pound feet of torque. It was able to reach 254 miles per hour while still retaining air conditioning and power windows/door locks.
