6 Recent Factory Green Corvette Color Options
Green is a popular color for sports cars, probably because of Triumphs, Jaguars, and MGs painted BRG, and there have been many greens in the Corvette option book over the years. We've already looked at the earlier generation cars, so let's look at the C4-C7 Vettes with the color of money.
1. 1990-91 Corvette in Turquoise
The early 1990s were a strange time, and there were some strange colors available directly from the factory, like this blue/green turquoise. Not only was this paint applied to Corvettes, but the Beretta as well, and Ford had a similar hue often seen on the F150 truck. This color is great on a period correct C4, like the rare ZR1 pictured above. Even rarer, there are 30-50 Indy 500 Festival Corvettes in this color used in the pre-race festivities, and with a pink "INDY" decal on the door.
2. 1990-96 Corvette in Polo Green
In dark Polo Green with a tan soft top, the C4 corvette has a real classic appeal, and is less likely to get a ticket than in arrest me red. Chevy first offered the color in 1990, and continued it until the end of the C4 line in 1996, for hard tops and convertibles. This color is not one that is ever going to fall out of favor.
3. 1997-98 Corvette in Fairway Green
The rarity of Fairway Green Corvettes (less than 350) has got to be solely due to that name. Older men buying a Corvette want to think they are sporty and young, not headed for the golf course and a retirement community. Fairway Green is a name for a Buick. If you like this medium green metallic color, good luck finding one, it is the rarest of C5 colors from these years.
4. 2000-01 Corvette in Dark Bowling Green
Dark Bowling Green is a fun play on words, paying tribute to the Bowling Green, KY factory where the modern Corvettes are made. This color is slightly darker than Polo Green and lighter than Fairway Green but still, pulls off the classic European sports car look. This must not have been a huge seller either, as it only lasted in the options for two model years.
5. 2014-2015 Corvette in Lime Rock Green
People who name paint colors have an affinity for wordplay, which is part of the reason this dark green Vette color is called Lime Rock Green. Lime Rock racetrack in Connecticut has a rich history of sports car racing going back to the 1950s, so it is perfect for a classy sports car green paint. And it has the word lime in it! This color lasted just a single model year, and part of 2015 before being dropped for lack of demand.
6. 2017 Corvette in Synergy Green Metallic
When will a green Corvette make a comeback? Why can't we get a Corvette in Camaro/Sonic Synergy Green Metallic? I did a little Photoshop magic to see what it might look like, and I honestly must say I like it.
