8 Things People Hate on the Corvette

We all love Corvettes. But when it comes to driving them on a regular basis, there are a few things that grind owners' gears.

1. Too Tight in There

Drivers 6 ft and over are finding themselves scrunching into pilot their Corvettes. This goes without saying that a sports car is not as hospitable for taller individuals, but come on, this is an American sports car! Once these drivers hit the gas, of course, fitment issues are temporarily forgotten. There had also been issues with getting out of the car, as many drivers need to grab hold of something in order to hoist themselves out of the car without causing injury to their body.

2. Changing Lanes

Not so much trying to see out the rear to change lanes, but rather dealing with the people in the neighboring lane too busy admiring your Z06 C7 to get out of the way so you can get to where you need to go.

3. What Am I Sitting On?

The ventilated seats are also a problem for drivers of the Corvette, as there are breathability issues. There isn't any true complaint with the seats except that they don't work as well as people would have hoped they would.

4. Having to Always Walk

Having a Corvette, whether it be new or old, should be a car you love and cherish. So when you go out to run an errand and the place has a big busy parking lot, you feel the need to park far from the bustle to protect the Vette. This means you're taking the scenic route and walking a bit further than the other shoppers to stay away from those s4!t boxes that always park way too close to you.

5. Sound System Woes

Forum members are pretty shocked when their fantasy of blasting an awesome song while cruising down the highway gets ruined by a crappy stereo system. Even the new C7 has gotten past this gremlin as complaints about the sound quality abound on the internet.

6. Tickets

Another top problem with owning a Corvette that has plagued owners for decades has been speeding tickets. There's nothing you can really do except hire a great traffic lawyer and keep them no retainer if you just can't stop the throttle from meeting the floor on a regular basis.

7. Cup Holders

A lot of owners who desire a nice drink on a cool day (not alcohol FYI) have had issues with the factory cup holder in the console. Some owners of automatics hold drinks between their legs while others have had to modify the cup holder with an aftermarket one to hold their beverages. Having an improved cup holder can also help with other items that you may carry on you in lieu of a drink, such as your sunglasses or loose change.

8. Tires

Why the hell can't there be all-season tires for the car? Many Corvette owners who live in regions that see snow cannot take their pride and joy out on the road until things are above 40 degrees. Having a 2nd car is necessary for these situations, but what if GM provided a tire for the rest of the year? Yes, it would mean decreased performance but you shouldn't be expecting to pull off any stunt driving in less-than-optimal conditions anyway.

Of course, these are all just remarks that are nitpicking at an incredible machine that Chevy has put out by a dedicated and enthusiastic following.
