1. One of the Most Expensive Cars EVER!

In January of 2014, a red 1967 Corvette L88 was sold at the Barrett Jackson auction for $3,850,000! Only twenty L88 Corvettes were made and just one was red.

2. A First for Fiberglass

In the early 1950's, it was uncommon to find a vehicle being manufactured out of anything other than metal. Corvette went against the grain and worries that a fiberglass body would crumble if impacted. The decision paid off and resulted in reduced weight for a better performing sports car that helped cement Corvettes spot in history.

3. The Fastest Corvette

The fastest factory built Corvette was actually built in 1968. The Corvette LT-2 could accelerate from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds. The quarter mile was traveled in a very quick 10.8 seconds at 124 miles per hour.

4. How Popular is Corvette?

Very popular! In fact, over two-million Corvettes have been sold since 1953.

5. Who Owns a 1983 Corvette?

Unless you're General Motors, you are not the owner of a 1983 Corvette. GM was busy preparing for the 1984 release and managed to build only 44 prototype models for 1983. Only one of these has been known to survive.

6. The Collaboration Behind the 1990 Corvette ZR-1

What started in 1986 as an idea from GM to build the world's fastest production car became a four year collaborative effort combined with Lotus and Mercury Marine. Lotus designed the all-aluminum 32 valve LT-5 and Mercury Marine assembled the engine before shipping it to Bowling Green for the final assembly.

7. Is the C5 Z06 an 11 Second Car?

Owners have successfully eclipsed the quarter mile in under twelve seconds. As of September 18, 2016, six non-modified C5 Z06 owners have joined the 11 second club. These numbers match or surpass one of the C5 Z06's greatest rivals, the generation three Dodge Viper.

8. Eliminate the Drag

One of Chevrolet's biggest goals during C6 production was to make the coefficient of drag as low as possible. After spending hundred of hours inside the wind tunnel, a 0.28 drag rating was achieved. The number is only slightly higher than the BMW i8 and Nissan GTR. Both of those vehicles cost at or above $100,000.

9. The C7 - A Technological Powerhouse

During the 2000's, advancements in technology have increased at an almost exponential rate. GM's design of the C7 highlights many of the latest and greatest advancements in automotive technology. For example, driver modes are now available, which allow the driver to fine tune steering, suspension, and powertrain to there style of driving. Rev matching is included with the seven speed manual, which makes smooth, almost seamless shifts no matter your manual transmission driving experience.
