One of the cleanest 427 Sting Rays out there!

A Corvette transcends its physical existence especially after you learn more about the owner's journey to acquire it. James Dipersia, the lucky owner of this '67 Sting Ray, purchased it over 12 years ago and it came extremely well-documented and it was all original mechanically. Read on to find out more about James and his journey to restore his '67 Stingray to nearly mint condition!

Why a Sting Ray?

A brief background on James is that he is the founder of high-end contemporary furniture store Disegno and a past President of the American Society of Furniture Designers. James has worked with countless celebrities and has received many accolades for his work.

James' Corvette obsession began early when he has a clear memory of his knees buckling at the shear sight of a split-window Sting Ray as a kid. After going through a few Corvettes during his life, he finally came across this '67 Sting Ray that he knew he had to have!

427 cubic inches of fury!

When it comes to classic Corvettes, there is nothing quite like a Big Block and a 427 was a requirement for James when he was tracking down the perfect car! This 390 HP example is mild enough to maintain great street manners but it packs a massive punch at the driver's demand. This L-36 Big Block was only installed in a total of 3,754 other '67 Corvettes. Some other performance options this Sting Ray received are a side-exit exhaust and transistor ignition!

All-original as it should be!

There's no other way to have a big-block Corvette than with a Muncie 4-speed! Rowing through the gears as you light up the rear tires had to be an amazing experience back in '67. The G80 positraction rear axle with 3.70 gears further motivates this Corvette to shred the rear tires at will.

As it was meant to be a cruiser, this Corvette came with all of the luxury options of the time including a black leather interior, AM/FM radio, and power windows. The meticulous interior is another reminder that this is a very special Sting Ray!

Restored down to every option!

Although each individual option is not very rare on this Sting Ray, the culmination of every option produces a tasteful and popular sports car for the period. The N89 cast-aluminum bolt-on wheels and Q81 Red-stripe tires round up some of the rarer options on the car and provide an unmistakably classic aesthetic.

Documentation is key!

When it comes to classic cars, documentation is crucial! Fortunately, this '67 was extremely well-documented all the way down to the Protect-O-Plate, original window sticker, and a copy of the original order sheet! The original manual and license plate also have been retained making this '67 an especially desirable collector piece!
