Another One

Every time a new performance car comes out, it usually doesn't take long before people start wrecking them. The all-new C8 Corvette is certainly quick, and with its new mid-engine layout, handles a bit differently than its front-engine predecessors. So perhaps that's the reason we've already seen at least a couple of wrecked C8s pop up across the country, and now we've spotted another one up for grabs over at Copart

Easy Fix?

This particular C8 is located in Cleveland, Ohio, and is pending a sale date. Copart lists it as having front end and side damage, which is pretty evident from the photos provided. The good news is, this Corvette doesn't appear to have any underbody damage, so it should be relatively easy to fix. Well, hopefully anyway, as salvage cars are always a mystery until you tear into them.

Nicely Equipped

Copart lists the estimated retail value of the car a bit high at $107,699, which we find hard to believe. But it is nicely equipped with 2LT trim, the Z51 package, a high wing spoiler, Carbon Flash mirrors, visible carbon ground effects, front end lift, and the engine performance package, to name a few.

Sickening Development

This particular car is nice on the inside as well, with a set of GT2 bucket seats and red seat belts. Sadly, it didn't take long for somebody's dream car to meet an untimely fate. Apparently, the car was purchased new on March 24 and wound up being crashed on May 15. We have to imagine the owner was sick to their stomach, and probably still is.

Guessing Game

This particular C8 was also produced in January, making it a very early car that might have even been a dealer demo model. There are no details about what exactly happened to it, but the car obviously ran into something at speed. Judging by the front end damage, it could have easily been a tree or pole.

Career Opportunity

Though the airbags went off and there's some obvious fiberglass work needed here, the drivetrain appears to be mostly unscathed. We imagine that there will be a flurry of bids on this car, as everyone wants to be a star on YouTube these days. And a wrecked C8 project is a good way to jump-start that sort of career.

Coming Back?

Thus, perhaps things will turn out OK for this poor C8 in the end. Or perhaps someone will simply buy it and remove the drivetrain for use in something else. Regardless, we're curious to know if we'll see this poor car again in the future, in some sort of capacity.
