Cadillac Out, Corvette In

Callaway will run a one-year exclusive factory team of two cars before stepping back in 2019 so that customer teams may compete with the Corvette. “For 2019, we will not race against our customers, but provide high-quality support to them in the tradition of other manufacturer customer racing support programs,” Callaway said. The cars will be piloted by Daniel Keilwitz and Michael Cooper for the season.

One Angry Race Car

Two Corvettes will be built and will be based on the production C7 albeit with many performance upgrades to both the engine and chassis. This is the second year that the c7 GT3-R will compete in the Pirelli World Challenge and will compete in the GT class for sprint races and long distant format SprintX races that require two drivers.

Straight from the guy in charge

“Joining the Pirelli World Challenge has been a long-term objective for Callaway Competition,” said company founder Reeves Callaway. “Now the field is a roll-call of the most capable sports cars from every country. To do well here, you must beat the best in the world. What better way to showcase our iconic American car?”

Coming together at last

Greg Gill, President, and CEO of Pirelli World Challenge, further backed up Callaway's excitement in a statement: “For several years fans have asked when they would see the Callaway Corvette GT3 run in the Pirelli World Challenge,” Gill said. “The wait is over and we are very pleased to announce the arrival of the Callaway Corvette GT3 for the 2018 season.”

Then the sales will be open to the other teams
