Earliest C3 in Existence

The C3 Corvette was, by and large, a successful follow up to the C2. Bowing in 1968, it brought major changes in styling while continuing to offer fans some serious performance (well, until a few years later). And while this particular '68 up for sale at MBP Motorcars isn't VIN #00001, it is the earliest C3 known to exist today.

Fully Documented

The ownership history of this Corvette is known since the day it was originally purchased, which undoubtedly helps its value. It also comes with the original Protecto plate, owners manual, radio card, restoration receipts and photos, first 15 1968 Corvette shipping data reports, and judging sheets.

Original Hues

The car remains in its original state but has undergone an extensive nut and bolt restoration. That includes a respray of the original Corvette Bronze hue, and a new matching Dark Orange interior. According to the seller, this '68 has never been in any sort of accident, either.

Caretakers Wanted

Even better, this C3 hasn't been driven all that much over the years. Today, it shows a mere 40,021 miles on the odometer. Clearly, the previous owner(s) knew what they had and took care of it accordingly.

Numbers Matching

Under the hood, you'll find the original L79 small block 327 V8, which was rated at 350 horsepower from the factory. It's backed up by the familiar Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission. This drivetrain is numbers-matching and has been given CCAS affirmation.

Slew of Awards

Inside and out, this stellar C3 is an absolute beauty. And it can back it up with a slew of awards including a 2016 Bloomington Gold Certification, 2015 NCRS Top Flight Award, 2016 Boca Raton Concours Best in Class, 2016 Ault Park Concours win, and a spot in the 2018 Bloomington Gold Special Collection.

Call for Price

We're not sure what happened to VIN #00001, but as of now, this particular car holds the glorious distinction of being the earliest C3 left. And you can bet that the seller is asking a pretty penny for it. After all, if you have to ask what the price is, you probably can't afford it!
