Paying Tribute

Briggs Cunningham is a legendary name in the Corvette world. The American racing legend, team owner, and Le Mans star created some pretty amazing race cars over the years as well, including the 1952 Cunningham C4R and C4RK Le Mans racers and the Cunningham C3. And now, this C8 Corvette - which pays homage to one of his most famous racers ever - is up for grabs in a raffle benefitting the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation.

Finding a Legend

Back in 1960,  Cunningham teamed up with Zora Arkus-Duntov and General Motors to field three Corvettes at Le Mans, where one of them finished eighth overall and won its class, solidified the iconic model's worldwide star status. That car was later found by Kevin Mackay and restored by National Corvette Hall of Famer Chip Miller with Mackay's help.

Commemorative Build

To commemorate that special trio, Briggs Cunningham has built 60 of these special 60th Anniversary C8 Cunningham Corvettes, and this is number 33 of that bunch. Each is numbered to pay homage to the #3 1960 Le Mans class-winning Corvette, and the VIN number of each is entered into the Cunningham registry.

Skin Deep

This white and blue beauty, just like its forefather, has been treated to a host of mods that are far beyond skin deep. Regardless, the exterior features a Peter Stevens Design Cunningham bespoke aero kit and retro-looking HRE 20x9" front and 21x12" rear forged aluminum wheels wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 245/30ZR20 front and 325/25ZR21 rear tires.

Power Mods

Meanwhile, the C8's 6.2-liter LT2 V8 has received a host of go-fast goodies including Corsa Sport tuned headers, an airbox, a Lingenfelter carbon-fiber intake manifold, and Corsa/Lingenfelter exhaust, all of which combines to increase output to a nice and even 600 horsepower.

Tame the Power

To help tame all of that extra juice, Cunningham gives its special Corvettes a set of  Cunningham/MOV’IT Performance antilock brakes, a Lingenfelter-tuned Z51 performance suspension with Magnetic Selective street/track settings, and a set of Cunningham competition sport bucket seats to keep occupants in place during hard cornering.

Win-Win

Put it all together, and the Cunningham 60th Anniversary C8 is a rather cool and comprehensive tribute to one of the most important Corvettes in history. And somebody will get the chance to bring this one home at a major discount, with their proceeds going to a great cause. So what's no to like?
