1. One Historic Event

It would only make sense that an organization known as the National Council of Corvette Clubs would hold its annual meeting in the home of the Corvette - Bowling Green, Kentucky. But surprisingly enough, this year's event marked only the third time in the club's 57 year history that the stars aligned in that manner. Even more, interestingly, it took NCCC until 2001 to visit Bowling Green for the first time.

2. Connecting Corvette Lovers From Around the Country

The NCCC was founded way back in 1959 as a 100% volunteer-driven, non-profit organization by a small group of Corvette enthusiasts. The purpose of the organization is to continue to promote Corvette ownership and provide a venue through which organized events can take place. Membership has grown considerably over the years, and now encompasses around 250 clubs, 16 regions, and 19,000+ members.

3. Home of the Corvette

There's no better place for those scores of Corvette enthusiasts to meet than Bowling Green, obviously. Home to both the General Motors Bowling Green Assembly Plant and National Corvette Museum, this small Kentucky town is not just a destination for lovers of Chevy's fiberglass sports car, it's the ultimate destination. The hundreds of NCCC members who showed up for the week-long event undoubtedly agree.

4. Lots of Exciting Activities

Attendees who grew bored with touring the Corvette assembly plant and looking at all the rare cars in the museum (as if that's possible) had other exciting events to take in as well. One of the bigger draws is the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park, where a host of activities took place. Other events took place at the Beech Bend Park, with the Sloan Convention Center acting as the home base for the event.

5. More Than Just a Car Show

Convention participants were also able to take shuttle buses to nearby Nashville to visit the many attractions the southern city has to offer. In addition, Music City offered up special concerts, a car show, tours, drag races, and a raffle benefiting St. Judes Children's Hospital. Attendees were also treated to one special, unscheduled event as well - the total solar eclipse.
