Somehow a Police Department Took Delivery of a C8 Z06

Surprising Customer

By now, it goes without saying that the 2023 Corvette Z06 is one of the hottest entities on the new vehicle market. With tremendous demand and precious little supply, few have taken delivery of the high-revving, sweet-sounding supercar, though that short list includes a surprising "customer" - the Ontario Provincial Police.

Generous Gift

While many high-performance vehicles that wind up in the possession of law enforcement get there via seizure from criminals committing illegal activities, that wasn't the case here - rather, GM gifted this brand new Z06 to the Ontario police, which made its public debut at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto recently.

Full Livery

As one might imagine, this Z06 has been fully decked out for duty, with a classic black and white livery, OPP logos, gold adornments, black wheels, and red brake calipers. A more modest, non-Z07 rear spoiler completes the look, along with the typical reflective adornments.

Show Car

While it would make perfect sense that this particular Z06 might wind up chasing down bad guys on high-speed pursuits, that apparently isn't what it's destined to do - rather, this C8 is merely a show vehicle, one meant to help recruit future law enforcement officers.

Unknown Origin

It's an interesting get for Ontario police, one that will undoubtedly raise a lot of eyebrows - particularly as many are awaiting delivery of their own C8 Z06. However, it's unclear what the origin of this particular car is - it could have been some sort of demo vehicle or one that GM couldn't legally sell. Regardless, now it'll serve a more noble mission, it seems.
