Bad Behavior

Car meets are a place where enthusiasts can get together and just have a good time. You can show off the fruit of your hard work and admire what others have brought out to show alike. From the mundane to the exotic, there are many different cars that can show up and many different kinds of people, too. The majority of people who frequent these events are great people, but unfortunately there are always bad apples. Continue reading for the most annoying people you will encounter at car meets.

1. The Souvenir Hunter

Don’t steal things. You may see this intrepid nuisance meandering about, checking door handles when they think no one is looking. They don’t want to just admire the trophy of someone’s hard work, they want a piece of it.

2. We Don’t Need No Education

There’s something magical about a parent introducing their child to the amazing world of awesome cars. The dark side to this is not teaching the child to have respect for other people’s prized possessions. Letting your kid run amok and cause havoc is not just bad for the meet but can put the child in a dangerous situation. Remember, this is still a parking lot where cars are coming and going!

3. Nice Car, Wanna Trade?

The guy or gal will say this to a high ticket car owner with the kind of smugness, as if they just made up the joke. Trust us that the owner of the exotic pricey ride has heard something to this effect many, many times over. Just smile and tell them it’s a great car. They will appreciate the comment, and you both can continue on with your lives free of awkwardness.

4. Not-So-Safe Braggadocios Maneuvers

Many car meets get shut down early or just flat out terminated permanently because of boneheaded stunts. These things include unsafe driving, burnouts, excessively loud engine revving, and accidents involving participants who have more horsepower than common sense.

5. If I Fits, I Sits

Don’t sit/lean on or touch other people’s cars. It’s not polite, and the metal studs on jeans/pants can scratch or otherwise damage the car.

6. My Car is Better Than Your Car

This person just walks around saying something like their other car, relative’s car, or a car they saw on the Internet is way better than what they’re looking at. This person has a strange compulsion to open their mouth and let idiocy flow forth into the world. They fail to understand that no one cares, but everyone wishes they would just pipe down and leave.
