1963 C2 Grand Sport

This Corvette is valued between $6-8 million because only 5 of them were made before the program was ended. The original plan called for 125 race ready Corvettes to be built and sold to professional drivers. These vehicles were created with the purpose of competing in FIA races such as the 24-hours of LeMans. These beasts were pushing 550hp out of an aluminum Chevy small block motor. 1955 C1 Alpha

Nearly any nice 1955 Corvette will fetch almost $100,000, but serial number one recently sold for $1.8 million! In 1955, the V8 was first introduced into the Corvette and giving it the power to match its sporty looks. You could also get a manual transmission for the first time in the Corvette, though just a 3 speed. This may be the third year of Vette production, but this is where its sports car history truly begins.

1969 C3 ZL-1

In 1969, two things happened to create these ultimate Stingrays: First, a 500 horsepower aluminum Chevy big block monster of a motor was offered, which was stronger than the L-88. Then, it was slipped into the new C3 Corvette, which had a lighter body than its predecessor. These cars are about as close as you could buy to a Can-Am racer that was street legal. This stronger, faster Corvette recorded 0-60-mph acceleration in 4.0 seconds, while the quarter-mile was completed in 12.1 secs at 116 mph. Having only 2 of 1969 Vettes built with the ZL-1 option explains the really large price tag, with one recently sold at $1.4 million. This car is considered a true, ultra-rare classic, and you can read more about it here

1967 C2 L-88

This car is valued at a cool $1 million. During its time, it was considered the best of the second generation Corvettes, yet only 20 were produced with the L-88 aluminum big block motor. These limited run sports cars came equipped with a road race ready motor capable of over 500 horsepower. Because such a limited run was made, they became very desirable to Corvette enthusiasts almost immediately when they learned about them. Chevrolet actually underrated the power of these motors and tried to discourage people from buying them, except for racing. You can read more about this car here

1969 C3 L-88

Born from its predecessor, the 1967 L-88, this Corvette fetches nearly half the coin, because though fast they are not the ultimate version offered in 69. These cars are valued at about $500,000. Around 116 L-88 equipped cars were built during 1969. Again, the engineers tried to keep these cars a secret because they were not supposed to be officially supporting racing.

1953 C1 rare combo

This '50s beauty was valued at $300,000, and this first-year Vette has topped $600,000. With the classic lines and nostalgic, these cars unfortunately only had 150hp from a straight six, feeding an automatic transmission. All 300 examples that first year were created identical, with a white exterior and red leather interior. This may not have been one of the fastest Corvettes ever, but was and still is a classic American sports car.

1963 C2 Z06 "Big Tank"

An example of a big tank equipped 1963 Vette recently sold for nearly $250,000. The reference to the big tank has to do with the optional huge 36-gallon capacity fuel tank, for endurance race events. The Z06 options added more tweaks for racing, including better suspension and brakes. Under the hood was a 327 cubic inch motor with up to 360hp and Rochester fuel injection. Just 63 big tank Z06 coupes were built.

1957 C1 "Fuelie"

Add the rare fuel injected 283 cubic inch motor to an already valuable 1957 Corvette, and its value instantly can hit five digits, more specifically $150,000. For the first time in 1957, fuel injection technology was introduced with these Corvettes, the feature caused these cars to be dubbed the "fuelie" for it. The big brake option with heavy duty suspension, together with the fuel injection make this car one of just 51, and worth all the marbles.

1962 C1 327/360 "Fuelie"

With options like fuel injection and a 327 small block, this was one of the top 1963 Corvettes offered. Even without any of the really rare options, any 1963 Vette with the top 327 motor in it is going to be worth nearly $100,000, especially with the four-speed transmission.
