It isn't quite as rough looking as your average barn find.

Interesting Discovery

These days, it seems like barn finds emerge regularly, and one has to wonder - when we will finally discover all of the old Corvettes out there hiding away in storage? For now, at least, that day hasn't come, and this quite nice 1962 Corvette up for grabs at eBay represents one of the more interesting barn finds we've seen in a while.

Not Stock

Covered in the typical layers of dust, this 1962 Corvette looks to be in pretty fantastic condition with still-shiny burgundy paint. It was reportedly purchased back in the 1970s and has sat in storage for quite some time now, but it most certainly isn't some sort of bone stock survivor, as the car was modified at some point along the way.

Engine Swap

Aside from the obvious addition of a set of rally wheels, this dusty C1 is also powered by some sort of small block of unknown displacement from the 1968 model year. However, the seller notes that there is evidence that it began life as a fuel-injected car, but it seems as if the original engine is long gone at this point.

Other Work

The seller also notes that the front end was replaced at some point over the years, perhaps because the car was in an accident of some kind. It's unclear if more work has been done elsewhere, but we wouldn't be surprised if it was repainted along the way given how nice that part of the car looks.

Few Signs of Wear

The same goes for the interior, which appears to be in the excellent shape underneath all that dust. There don't appear to be any rips or tears, let alone much fading that's typical of older cars - especially convertibles like this one.

Nice Driver

Overall, this 1962 Corvette looks like a pretty darn nice car, and the seller notes that it runs quite well, too. With a little cleaning and some elbow grease, we imagine that it would make nice driver as-is, which makes it pretty desirable in our book.

Proper Price?

The only sticking point is the asking price of $50,000, which seems reasonable, and yet, no one has pounced on this C1 after a few weeks. Perhaps it's the replacement engine or unknown history that's scaring them away, which may open the door for a little negotiation.
