Head Turner

The folks at West Coast Customs rose to fame via its own TV show, instantly becoming a hit with fans thanks to its unique, over-the-top builds. Of course, there are those that don't necessarily like the polarizing automobiles that roll out of this particular shop, and that's likely also going to be true with their latest creation - this widebody C8 Corvette, which certainly fits the mold of a typical WCC build.

Getting the Itch

The most obvious modification that has taken place on this particular C8 Corvette is its fresh bodywork, which mostly consists of a widebody kit from Carbon Creations. Turns out, the owner had already modified his ride somewhat, giving it vertical doors, aftermarket wheels, and a gray wrap, but he soon got the itch to do something different.

Extensive Process

As one might imagine, installing a kit this extensive requires quite a bit of work - not to mention cutting, fitting, finessing, and finishing. That whole process is documented in this particular WCC episode, and it's certainly interesting to follow along, even if the end result isn't exactly your cup of tea.

Wish List

The owner had a few other things on his wish list for West Coast Customs to add to his ride, including a set of Forgiato wheels, an air ride suspension, audio upgrades, and an exotic, McLaren-like exhaust system that exits out above the bumper for a truly unique look.

Getting to Work

After receiving a host of parts from Magnaflow to create this C8's custom exhaust, the WCC team gets to work fitting all of the other various bits and pieces. It also adds a pretty massive rear wing that perfectly complements the rest of the in-your-face bodywork, as well as a black wrap to darken things up a bit.

Rerouted Pipes

The final touch is that custom exhaust, which requires cutting up the bumper to reroute its pipes in a completely different spot - on each side of the license plate, which gives it a truly unique look. That spot also ensures that the body kit's Lamborghini-like rear diffuser remains intact, too.

Mission Accomplished

The end result is certainly dramatic looking, if nothing else, and these modifications truly transformed this particular C8. It's also sure to draw mixed reactions, but ultimately, this is precisely what the owner wanted - one of the wildest looking C8 Corvettes out there - and that's exactly what he got, too.
