One for the Ages: AMP Corvette Z06 Duels Underground Racing Lamborghini Gallardo

The Lamborghini Gallardo might have been replaced by the Huracan a couple years ago, but the twin-turbocharged Underground Racing custom version ain’t going anywhere anytime soon. As one of the fastest cars in the world, it’s going to keep rolling into the spotlight, ready to defend against newer, supposedly better models. Better models like this tuned Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

The Z06 comes out of Texas country from a shop called Advanced Modern Performance. The company claims it’s the fastest Z06 on the planet in the quarter-mile, after running a 9.3-second pass back in March. The company also touts that even after 5,000 miles and more than 500 runs, the car is still going on the factory transmission.

In the video below, the Z06 finds itself up against one of the most worthy opponents in the country in the UR Gallardo at the Texas Speed Syndicate. I won’t ruin the results, but it’s a controversial race to say the least.
