First Sinkhole Casualty Returns to Corvette Museum
Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of the day the world opened up and swallowed eight museum-quality ‘Vettes. Today, the National Corvette Museum welcomed back the first vehicle pulled from the sinkhole, a fully restored 2009 ZR-1 Blue Devil.

Yes. This just happened. A stock, seven-speed-manual Corvette Z06 has finally pulled off a 10-second quarter-mile; 10.9 seconds at 127 mph. Take that, Nissan GT-R Nismo.
Though some are speculating this Corvette Z06’s damage may have been caused by wet roads combined with the lack of tread on the tires, one Corvette Forum member has gotten to the real root of the problem.
