Chevrolet officially opened the door to the new C7 Corvette with the release of the redesigned crossed flags logo last week at Petit Le Mans. Today, a new video landed on Chevy’s countdown to the C7 website, www.one13thirteen.com, that teases the new sports car and gives us some an idea of what is yet to come when the Corvette is officially unveiled in Detroit on the eve of the North American International Auto Show.
Quick glimpses of the the new Corvette show it undergoing design and development. We see Chevy designers sculpting the new car in clay and then the video progresses to the track where test drivers are shown strapping themselves into the seats. After a quick sequence on the test track, bits and pieces of the next Corvette are quickly blurred and sharpened revealing details that show this is a brand new Corvette.
We dropped the teaser into our video editor and went frame-by-frame to pick out some of the more interesting details. Here are screenshots of the front grille, new wheels with slotted brakes, the four in-line exhaust ports and a closeup of one, the driver’s side mirror and the rear fender. We also see an interior shot showing part of the passenger side door panel.
The future comes calling on 1.13.13 so make sure you follow www.one13thirteen.com for the latest on the all-new 2014 Corvette.
