Custom ZR8X Corvette Unites Family During Build
The ZR8X kit for the Corvette is more than just skin deep. It’s not just an appearance package, but also a way to bring a family together. Corvette Forum member Magik started this thread a long time ago (especially in the age of the internet) about his C6 conversion from stock, with the Supervette’s ZR8X kit. The family unity started with disassembly of the C6’s outward skin, and soon the work to convert was underway.
Luckily this thread is thriving with details about the kit and how it is installed. Really, it’s a snapshot of a family photo album, too. Not only does the Corvette grow from a passive silver C6, into a blue wide-body wonder, but other ZR8X Corvette owners have chimed in to help those who want to turn their C6 into something amazing.
We have seen body kits for Corvette before, but not one so thorough as this. Fenders, hood, wheels, tires, paint, and more. Perhaps soon, body kits for the C7 will start to permeate the market. It’ll be amazing to see how the looks of the C7 can improve, but until then, let’s just admire this all-in-the-family C6.
