G-Speed Aims to Solve C7 Corvette Cooling Issues Once and for All

Now more than ever, Corvette owners are using their cars on the race track, as intended. Amazing as it seems, this has exposed a very big weak point in the C7: cooling issues. It seems almost inexplicable that GM would overlook something as serious as cooling, but the A8 transmission has proven troublesome, even in the Z06. But supporting vendor G-speed has taken it upon themselves to find a solution, and have done an incredible job of documenting the process.

The testing depths G-Speed are going includes added sensors to detect temperatures at key places in the cooling system, as well as verifying that the standard OBD readings are accurate. They are trying several different locations for additional coolers, relocation of existing coolers, and testing everything in the hardest way possible.

There are so many graphs that showcase their findings, that making a gallery here would take them out of context. For the most detailed information, check out the thread they have started as they set out to discover proper cooling of your C7. It’s a lengthy read, but very much worth it.
