Remove Valve Cover on a 1985 Corvette

I recently performed this
small feat by not following the Haynes Manual instructions. For the
driver\’s side valve cover removal the manual descibed removing the
serpentine belt and the alternator in order that the valve cover could be
moved forward for removal.

I noticed the cover for the wiper
motor at the firewall and with just 3 screws to remove I had the the wiper
motor cover off and enough room once I pulled off the plug wires at the
plugs to move the cover back toward the firewall and off the head. By
doing so I managed to clear the alternator mounts at the front and with a
lot less hassle than removing the alternator.
