The 1961 Corvette Gulf Oil race car was one of the centerpieces of Mecum’s 2012 Kissimmee auction and it drew massive attention when it hit the auction block Saturday afternoon. GM Recalling 6,006 Corvette Coupes for Rear Hatch Issue

The Detroit News is reporting that General Motors will be recalling 6,006 2011 and 2012 Corvette Coupes in North America due to failure to meet a federal safety standard covering the rear hinges.
