New Z06’s Power Loss from Conservative ECU Continues to Spark Discussion
It’s not heat soak. It’s actually the ECU cutting power after you’ve wrung the new Z06’s neck for an extended period. Still, this race has people talking.
This rant goes out to the group that has decided that buying the last-generation Z06 is the far-better investment than the new car, especially when you throw in a few performance modifications.
Motor Trend seems to have all the fun. They get Ferraris, Porsches and all other sorts of super exotica. They were also able to score one of the first drives of the new Corvette Z06. Determining from the video after the jump, the car is heroic.
Sixteen MPG combined isn’t bad for a car with 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque that will do zero to 60 in under three seconds. Then again, if it’s amazing fuel economy numbers you’re looking for, you probably stumbled on the wrong website.
I don’t know about you, but I just can’t get enough video footage of the 2015 Corvette Z06. Seeing photos is one thing, but seeing the car in motion is a completely different take on the new higher-performance ‘Vette.
