What should I pay

What should I pay
My wife and I have been in the market for 2008, auto, coupe, 1LT is fine. I've come across a car that a dealer has had for a few months now. It has 16000 miles and they are asking 32500. I'm thinking 30k out the door with an extended warranty, tax, and tags is a fair price. Thoughts?

$30,000 is a little low, at least in my area of the country. So the price that is being asked is not that bad, but I would try for the $30,000, after all most they can say is NO.

- This is a 2008 coupe?
- Condition of car?
- Clean history?
- 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, 4LT?
- NPP, chrome wheels, 2 tops?
- Is it going to need tires soon?
- How much is sales tax in your area?
- Are you getting a GMPP extended warranty or third-party warranty?

I would definitely not be in a hurry to buy a used base model C6 right now unless it was a killer deal on a perfect car with the exact color and options you want. There will no doubt be some smokin' deals on new 1LTs out there...like this deal.

30k out the door icluding tax, tags and extended warranty would be a great deal but I doubt it can be had. Perhaps their asking price out the door with extended warranty, etc. might do it and is fair.

Personally, I'd say this is a good deal with such few miles. When all is said and done, its the mileage that commands price in the Corvette world. See if it shows up on Carguru's website in your area.

Price of car.............$26,800
7% Sales Tax.............$1,820
GMPP Warranty...........$1,200 (Dennis Fichtner discount price)
License/Fees................$180
Out The Door...........$30,000
So what you are really saying is you want to offer $26,800 for this car...which has to be at/below wholesale for it. I think they are going to send you packing!7% Sales Tax.............$1,820
GMPP Warranty...........$1,200 (Dennis Fichtner discount price)
License/Fees................$180
Out The Door...........$30,000
18 months ago I sold my low-mileage 1LT 2009 coupe to CarMax for $36,000...and they sold it for $39,000 2 months later.

Did everyone forget the OP said OUT THE DOOR? So working backwards, here's how that offer breaks down...

no chance you will get it for that price especially with extended warranty.

That's a legit point, but even without the owner loyalty discount, he could still have purchased one of those at Les Stanford for $38,000! I would rather do that than pay low 30s for a used '08. The cheapest 2013 1LTs are about $42K right now at Kerbeck.
