Default Laser/Radar Detector

Looking for the best Laser Jammer & Radar Detector, whether a stand alone system or combo, I only want to do this once. Recommendations?

Tests are a few years old, but still relevant since the models haven't changed much since.

Radar test results here

Laser test results here

Summary: V1 and Laser Interceptor had the best results.

Full disclosure: I use a Escort 9500ix because of the GPS and minimal false alerts. It is a very capable unit as well and has saved my butt numerous times. I do not have any laser jammers.

I use the 9500ix along with the Laser Interceptor - both are connected to my Pioneer stereo mute. The 9500ix GPS handily warns me about red light cameras too. The Laser Interceptor is designed to connect with the V1, but I'm not sure what the benefit is. The V1 uniquely gives you an indicator as to which direction the radar is coming from.

Do you JTK with the Pioneer mute?

I think Blinder recently came out with a new unit that's supposed to be pretty good, although there's a lack of real world testing to say whether it's better than the LI or not.

More like Klingon since it has radar and laser sensors plus LI cloaking (laser blocking).

I've had an Escort 8500 x50 for a few years now and its always worked perfect. I also run a Blinder M27 on my Impala. I have defeated all radar and laser traps that I've come across. I purposely turn around and run back past the laser gun, just to have some fun some times. I just ordered a new Escort Redline for the vette and I'll be getting the new Blinder HP-905.

I made the mistake of heading out of town the other day without the Escort and got popped doing 84 in a 65. I wont make that mistake again.

Check out some of the radar review web sites and forums.....good luck.

Leaning hard toward a Laser Interceptor. If you have professionally installed should I expect the installer to test with a Lidar Gun? I woud assume they should be able to test the install somehow!
