Default C5 12" subwoofer boxes

I have a 12" Alpine type R dvc sub and a JL Audio jx1000/1 amp I would like to use in my C5 vette. Does anyone know a place that sells a box that will work with that sub? Looking for options before I have a custom one made or sell and get a 10" setup. Amp is overkill, but thats what i have available right now.

Thanks in advance

creativeaudio.net has the jl 10w3v3-8 on sale for 119 shipped. much easier to get a 10 to sound correct in the space a c5 has to offer. that sub works really well in .8 to 1.0 cubic foot sealed and there are tons of pre fab boxes made for the c5 and a 10

putting a 12 in the same box usually is a good way to get slightly more output but that annoying 50-70hz range is going to be more peaky. people have used that sub in boxes that small. i just personally don't like what 12s in general do in small enclosures. in fact i really don't like any subs in small enclosures

if you search ebay 12" c5 boxes do exist and are no more costly than the 10" version

if i were you i'd sell that 12 which should pay for most of a new 10w3v3

i doubt stock will last as cheap as they are being sold

the 10w3v3 hits a qtc of .707 in 28 liters of airspace

a subthump.com 12" flush box will work.

your sub has a 7 5/8" mounting depth and this box has 8" max depth & 1.1 cf.

I use this box with my 12" XCON sub and it sounds great.

The Depth is 6 3/8" I also verified with a straight edge and a tape measure. I have the SWR-12D2 a sealed box with 0.85 cubic ft should work well.

Dave, I spoke to you a while back when I 1st posted this in June. If you can send me a PM on a price on a box not covered in carpet that will work for this sub. I am planning on getting it wrapped in leather Vinyl to match my black panels in the car. Hopefully goes together with the Black and Tan interior in my c5 vette.

Thanks for everyones input.
