Default Ignition and lighting wires

Hello-

Been doing a bunch of research and can't seem to peg these two wires for an aftermarket radio install in my C6 non-bose.

Where should the ignition 12v wire plug in to? I don't see this in the radio harness so I'm thinking the ignition harness or something in the BCM.

For the lighting wire, I read you can take this to the AH/Traction control button light, would that work or is there a better option?

Thanks
Jake

There isn't a switched wire in the radio harness. If you want to retain your warning chimes you'll need an interface adapter to do both the chimes and RAP controlled power. I'm using the C2R-GM24 for just that, but there are many to choose from. If you have and want to retain onstar you'll need a specific model.

If you don't want chimes or RAP you can just tap a switched wire in the footwell fuse box. Wipers or heated seats are popular using an add-a-circuit gizmo.

Thanks Mark. So would I connect both the accessory and ignition wires from the radio to the wipers fuse or just the accessory wire?

Got it figured out. I wired the accessory wire and the primary power for the radio to the wipers and the ignition radio wire to the ignition sensor fuse. The radio doesn't come on when accessory is on but that doesn't bother me.

Thanks,
Jake

Yellow HU wire should be on a constant power B+ source, fused of course.

Red HU wire goes to switched fuse tap in footwell.

Orange HU 'illumination' wire goes to grey/black wire at TC/AH button.
