C5 Rear Speaker Replacement
Hey all, gonna need to replace the rear speakers in a coupe.
Any recommendations?
Did some googling and saw some mention of difficulty with the stock connection wire if going aftermarket...
Thanks..

Adapters are available that will plug into stock plugs, but splicing the wires is easy enough if this will be a permanent replacement. Prints are in post 9 of C5 audio sticky so you can see which wires are +/- if you splice.
Any standard 4ohm 6.5" will work fine for rears of a C5 coupe. Radio prob isn't putting out 20wRMS, so try to find a speaker that isn't looking for loads of power (RMS rating under 100w).

Melting Slicks
I just ripped out the rear Bose speakers in my 2001 coupe and also have a question on the subject.
I am replacing the Bose head unit with a Kenwood and would like to retain the factory wires for the rear speakers. I will run new wiring for the front door speakers. That being said......
Do the speaker wires for the rear run directly from the head unit to the speakers or through the signal processor. I would like to simply re-use the existing wire if possible.
