Default Track Rental Questions "LRP" and gauging interest

I would like to setup a track rental at Limerock either this year or next because there are only about 3 I know of each year for HPDE or TT

I missed my favorite one and the others are Sold Out.

I realize this maybe impossible unless I can get another club that runs there to work with because of insurance but don't know if that is true or not.

I have left a message with the track managment for rules and pricing but while I was waiting for a call back I figured I could gauge interest and get some info.

EMRA has a TT event 10/27 (Friday). They may still have spots open.

Insurance is easy to get. Most tracks can get insurance for you about $900 for a weekend. Or though KandK Insurance where the tracks will get the insureance.

The tough part is getting open dates. So many tracks are booked 2 and 3 years in advance. Some tracks only want paying spector events. LR does not allow Sunday events IRCC do to the local ppl and NOISE ordinces.

If I had to guess LR is still $10-$15,000 per day rental.

COM has a date in November that I don't think sells out. (Although it sometimes gets snowed out.) www.comscc.com

LRP is approximately $45K for a Friday/Saturday rental.

Between PDA, EMRA, SCDA and a raft of other 'non-denominational' car clubs, you probably don't need to try to rent the place yourself.

Who would want to rent that POS track in the middle of nowhere, bumpy, one big circle, that's as wide as my driveway, overpriced...

Rent the Glen/Pocono and be done with it.

So many car clubs and events sell out months in advance too. A lot of advance planning is needed.

personally, I HATE LRP. I agree with all the above negative statements.

I havn't been there in well over a year, and don't miss it at all.
having said that, I do have a PDA event reserved in my name, Nov 9th.
it's up for sale
highest bidder takes it !! I'm serious too.

I'd gladly give up my spot to fund my next tire purchase

Yeah just cars with those walls about 5" from the track. That place was designed with mopeds in mind.

Glen weather is probably too bad to count on in Nov/later. If you are in the NY/NJ/CT area Summit Pt and VIR are both within a days drive and I know there is an event at VIR as late as Nov.

But no response are they the same as SCDA or PDA I have a Cobra Replica that is allowed at the other events but don't know about them.

Not a certifed cage and the belt at out of date but never an issue before.

Also a just off the showroom floor Z06

All information is on their web site. They are all volunteers so be patient with a response. Also try posting on their Boardroom. EMRA will find a class for your car!

Fmrfast is a forum member who is asscioated with EMRA maybe he will chime in.

Steven

P.S. I will be there 10/27 in the NEI class (Black 1992 Vette #13)

I have a warm place in my heart for LRP, it being the first track that I ever drove on and I have a long history of events there. But I do enjoy Pocono and the Glen much better, especially with the Vette. For lower HP cars, LRP can be fun because you are not at a huge disadvantage over the high HP cars, except on the front straight. When I want to track my old Jaguar XKE or Ferrari 308, that's a great place to do it. The Vette is fun, but it's a small track for a fast car.

All that said, I'm still interested in doing events there. I did events this year at LRP with SCCA, FCA, Jaguar Club, CART. Some events are more fun than others, but I always have a great time. Cost, however, is becoming a major factor at LRP, especially since they spent all that money to pave the infield and move fences, barriers and walls but did nothing to the track itself.

Let us know if you end up putting something together. I suspect the only available dates will be mid-week, or very early or late in the year.

p.s. If you look closely, you'll notice that my avatar is from the infield at LRP.

Hi Track Addict,

EMRA is a race organization and not as forgiving as HDPE folks. They do check belts and helmet dates and as you are modified will likely require a fire extinguisher. I've gotten by in the past, with a hand held powder type secured to the floor.

At the TT you basically run practice sessions in the morning and then line up for your timed runs in the PM.

Good luck......I know how you feel, they closed the Glen early this year to pave and I am going through withdrawal myself.

Holy Cow! $45K to rent a track? I am glad I live in the west.. You can rent Buttonwillow with the insurance ,ambulance and flaggers for about $7K a day and it is FIA width and over 3 miles around... Thunderhill the same... Holy smokes, what a shellacking

Thanks for the insight I will be leaving the Cobra at home and taking the Z06, its showroom stock so there shouldn't be any objections.

I'm registered and fired up

By the way the Cobra is for sale

No need for 2 track day cars

Default Got the info from LRP

Its not $45K

Price for Mon-Thur range from 8.5-13K for the day depending on the time of year.

Fridays and Sats are 10.5K-14.5K

Will be abit more next year

Don't get me wrong its not cheap and I don't know what any other tracks charge
