Default Ready for battle =)

A ounce of preventions is worth a pound of cure... right... this'll make post track cleanup 1,000,000x eaisier. My paint is allready a bit ****ed in the lower areas, but might as well hold on to what's left. Also threw a quick coat of wax on to help w/ track brake dust.

Does the tape help when you slide into a wall?

Looks familiar! I didn't even bother removing my tape or numbers from last week at Car Guys, with Synergy being this weekend.

Why not racers tape? It comes in different colors, you know.

Racers tape is too sticky and leaves an adhesive residue behind when you take it off. Been there, done that.

Eh... well I worked on the car from abotu 7-1am last night... but spent over an hour over at Z_speeder_74's house bull****ting... washed, waxed, then taped up. Finished up my XM install and packed my tools.

The actual taping took about 20 min max. I had 3m painters tape in the 3" roll.

My car is pretty beat... but those areas get all marred up w/ black marks etc and I'd rather do this then have to buff/clay the car again.

The paint on my tigershark nose is still fairly new so I want to keep it nice. Really not sure why.... I'll be getting a hood sometime soon and re-blend it all anyway.

Cobra, there is a better solution for track days than the painters tape: Get ahead of all the other cars and stay there. That way there is nobody ahead of you to throw track turds and pebbles at you.

See you tomorrow night at VIR.

^ Why didn't I think of that! But running up front doesn't stop the car from sandblasting itself... which is what kills the rockers.

No, but helps to keep your parts from littering the track.

Default In the past I would have made fun of you

But I just got an 07 Z06 and I'll be applying about 9 Rolls of the blue stuff before my next track day.

Now if thay only made in Victory Red I wouldn't look like such a tool.

hahah... seriously if I was buying the car all over again a clear bra would be my #1 mod. Cover the facia, mirrors, and the lower fender/doors/rockers all the way back and behind the wheels.
