Default sharkbar v hardbar/roll cage

I'm a 2004 couple owner who's just getting into road racing. I'm going to install a 6pt harness system this winter and have heard both Hardbar and Sharkbar make systems for the c5. Which one do you recommend?

Also, how critical is installing a roll cage. Thus far I'm just doing "hot laps" for fun. No wheel to wheel racing in the horizon for the next 12 months.

Thanks.

it is hard to beat the Hardbar harness bar. It is simple light weight and does not take up a lot of room when not on the track. As far as the cage goes I think it is always a good idea but most of the street-track cages I have seen seem to be more dangerous than no cage at all. You really have to cut a car up to get a good safe cage in.

Many make a decision on price. Safety vs. Price should never be a trade-off!

Dale look forward to seeing you at CMP!

Most of my driving will be at the Autobahn, hot lapping, but no wheel to wheel racing. I'm still green and just starting to learn the ropes.

Vetteworks doesn't MFG Sharkbars for C4 or C5's but they do sell Hardbars. They usually are in stock.
