Default Pressure Bleeder

It's time to step up to a pressure bleeder. I'll be using my air compressor. Any good pressure bleeders out there? I'm looking to do all my GM cars, not just my corvette.
I'll also need the rectangle cover adaptor for my older GM's

I went for the Motive, which doesn't connect to my compressor, but does everything I want including adaptors for non-GM vehicles.

Been using it for 2 years now, after every weekend at the track. Cheep insurance and no brake problems.

Bleeder is rated at 20 PSI but only needs 10 PSI to make it work. This will keep any issues with "air embolism" to a minimum.

I have used my Motive Pressure bleeder on both my Firebird and Vette, as well as a friend's C5, with great results. Highly recommended.

Larry,
I use the Motive also. However, mine came with a fixed GM adapter that fits the Corvette. To get what you want you probably would have to get one of the Motive units that come with several adapters.

The Motive works very well and it is very handy to have in the pits since you do not need a compressor to run it.

By the way the BMW Genessee Chapter has its 2007 Watkins Glen dates on the web page. I just signed up for a May 5th Trackmasters open track event so I can get some track time before the BMW ITS the following weekend.

I homemade one, but it's cheaper to buy a Motive that is already built.

I made my own cap, with a three way valve to release pressure before removing the cap from the MC

I use mine by not following the directions. I put clean fluid in the MC, then I put the Motive top on, pressurize, bleed, then if you turn the top of the Motive bottle you can release pressure before removing the top on the MC. No need for the 3-way valve since I release the pressure at the bottle, not at the MC cap.

What's your procedure, Tom? Note that I don't put brake fluid in the Motive bottle, only in the MC.

Motive here too. Started to use it this year and love it.

I too change the fluid in the MC (based on Tom's advice) instead of adding it to the motive bottle. Much cleaner that way.

Fluid only in the MC, not the bottle.

I picked up a Motive bleeder several years ago, never did have any luck using it, just made a big mess.

So why the extra valve rather than cracking open the top on the Motive bottle to release the pressure? (Sorry, not trying to be a jerk, just trying to understand)

You bought the generic version, right? You pretty much need to buy the adapters/fittings for the MC you care about... trying to use their generic J-hook P.O.S. leads to exactly what you describe...

Kill time. I am not much of a mechanic let alone an engineer. So making that thing work was an acomplishment for me.

Golden Eagle - How did you get the cap to properly seal on the Master Cylinder ? I built a similar one to yours but kept losing pressure around the cap seal. Added thicker gaskets, etc, and still could not get it to seal and hold any pressure. Your advise would be appreciated.
