Wow - 16:1 compression ratio. I am glad that I do not have to purchase the $6.00 a gallon race fuel that it would take to keep that monster running without detonation. 800+ HP How do you put that much HP to the ground ?? Traction woulod be a major problem!!

be nice in 4WD Vette They are talking even more HP than that. I bet 700-750 is possible on pump gas. HP of cars is getting HPDE cars will have more than C6R

wha't really amazing is how formula one cars get 900+ HP out of a motor 1/2 the size. I wonder what the compression ratio is on a F1 motor?

They get that power, because a lot more advanced engine items then an old pushrod big disp V8. At that level, displacement has little to do with it. That statement is backed up by the fact that power INCREASED when the teams made the change from v-10's to v-8's.

What's the deal with the canted valve heads? A high swirl combustion camber can get away with that kind of compression. Don't know about emmisions though, and it certainly is no bolt-in!
