Default BigPineKey's locked and loaded for CMP

other than a little fresh paint yet to come...

With a fresh alignement, corner-weighing, and lots of patchwork, Falcon's new ride is ready to roll. Let's see what our favorite hot-shoe can do when he goes WHEEL-TO-WHEEL with NASA's best next month.

We didn't install a chrome-horn yet, but I'll have one made up just in case.

Seriously though, nice car, he'll have lots of fun!

David's right, the yellar car is back home and almost ready to rock and roll!

David did a great job making sure the car is ready to go. There were some things he found during his excursion around the car that had to be fixed and he did a marveous job getting it all done.

I've spent most of the evening removing decals and will probably get it painted in the next couple of weeks.

Any of you guys who track your 'Vette, you will find it very helpful having David set it up for you. I'm sure my alignment and corner weighting is all done. He went through the car as far as safety items are concerned so I know I'm taking a safe car to the track.

The mechanical (engine, clutch, torque tube, xmission & diff) items are hopefuly in as good as shape as the rest of the car now. Time will tell.

No, I'm leaving the car basically as it was for T1. I'll wait a couple months of track time and get used to the car, then I'll start reducing weight.

It looks like Jody's car is right at the Power-to-weight limit for ST2, so no need to reduce weight. Once he has it dyno "certified" we'll look into trimming things if we need to. T1 cars, at 3280, come very close to being ideal for ST2.

Even at a conservative power-to-weight ratio, there is tons of potential for some pretty trick cars in this class. It is totally UNLIMITED in mods, as long as you keep weight and power in check. Could see all sorts of wings, splitter, big brakes, small clutches, etc etc etc.

I'm trying to find a REALLY cheap c5 to build myself.

btw, this is Jody's Easy Button I put in:

T1 didn't require one.

Oyishdog, sorry but I'm not doing cages right now.

I only have a small bender, so I can add a bar here and there (even a roll bar), but not a full cage.

There is an excellent fabricator in the Monroe area who has built cages and his work in outstanding. If you are interested in more information, PM me.

I agree, great builder in Monroe, but pricey. If we're talking about the same person, he did the cage in my old car. He's my go-to-guy when I need precision welding done (welding flywheels, AN fittings, etc)

Same guy. Pricey, but he delivers on time and his quality is outstanding. Worth it to me on some things, and I think I would have to include a cage on that list.

David,

I would like to have the alignment on my Z06 checked. Haven't had it checked since I purchased the car (new) in 04. Where are you located? Close to Big Pine Key?

Thanks

Phil

David,

You have no idea how BAD I felt on that one & I still do. I've blead Corvette race brakes a 1000 times if I'vr done it once over the past 36 years of road racing just Corvettes. I have no idea what the **** I did. Sorry man..........

Actually I think Kevin sneaked in right behind me when I wasn't looking and loosened them up. Yea, that's the ticket........ Kevin did it!

Did you ever check out my racing website? www.buzzfyhrieracing.com
