Sebring Speed GT Race - Spoiler
Corvettes finish 1st and third, with Eric Curran winning his first speed GT race and Tomy Drissi finishing third. Lawson Acschenbach was second in a Cadillac CTS-V.
Drissi drove an LG Motorsports Corvette. The rest of the team didn't fare well as Lou GiGigliotti and Peterson both had to retire with mechanical problems.
Looking forward to seeing the race on Speed Channel on March 25 at 2:30.

Corvettes will obviously be 200lbs heavier by the next event. They must be cheating!
Seriously, great for Eric. Nice guy and great driver. I've raced with him often.

Melting Slicks
Props also to Drissi, who was around 10th when they started racing again and climbed up to 3rd at the checker

Nothing like a win after your car was on fire!
Knew all that rain at Lime Rock was good for something!
Three cheers for the NE guy!

Good job to Eric. He did a great job. He is a first class driver and the Whelen Corvette is also a first class race car. Congrats to Sonny, Ted and the whole Whelen team.
The in car cameras did show that the two porsche 997s of Pobst and Galati were down on power but they were also down to Sofronas' 997 too. They need to get the same Porsche factory tune up to their PCM that Sofro has.
My car blew a diff, and Doug Peterson's car had his PCM turn off momentarily. Since it had not happened to him before, he just thought it was a blown engine. When he got in the pits, we started it up and he went back out to finish the rest of the race with no problems. A simple flip of the ign switch would have reset it.
This happened to the Caddy's at St Pete last year also and it cost them the win. It is a GM Computer issue. We might switch to a Bosch PCM for that reason.
With the wet and dry track, we didn't feel like crashing trying to make up the gap which was going to be impossible so we were waiting for the yellow which did come. Only one problem....My race was already over.
Tomy Drissi did a fantastic job. It is not easy going off the dry line to make the outbraking passes. Every car that he passed he did under braking and off line. Arenelin is an amazing thing.
Long Beach is next. only two 20 minute practices then a 15 min qualifying. So the guys that have been there before will have an advantage. Of the top 10, last year Archer had the pole, I qualified 2nd with Pilgrim, Aschenbach, Fellows McCann, Drissi, Sofronas and a couple of others have been there. The others will have to be FAST learners including Pobst and Galati.
It should be a barn burner.
If any of you are going to be there, look us up.
Thanks
