Default Could the C6R be banned?

9 hours and 10 minutes into Sebring and the Corvette's are 1-2 with an 8 lap lead over the only other GT1 car in the field. However as much as im enjoying the GM parade ive also been wondering today if the C6R could ever be banned/neutered for the sake of GT1. It seems like its dominance along with the C5R has scared everyone off. Aston Martin pissed and moaned about how they couldn't compete in 2006 and the Corvette basically had to race on 3 wheels for the second half of the season for it to be fair...even then it was really close. Im thinking back to the days of Showroom Stock(even though I wasn't quite born yet) when the Vette's were politely asked to leave after the other cars couldn't keep up. Thoughts anyone?

If they banned the Corvettes--there would be no class to race in. ALMS needs the racers.Racers can always play somewhere else.

The same that happen to Peugeot. They stayed home. Bad move on their part, Sebring is the perfect test bed for the 24 Heures du Mans

So the other 2 aston's will be at the next round? That is weird. Thats one gimme race for the manufacturers championship and a huge morale boost, strange strategy for a team that talked so much about the Vette advantage.

Guys wait a minute... Think about the implications before you get to excited... You want competition. You want a worthy adversary to compete with and PUSH development to the next level, Don't you? We wouldn't HAVE the C6Z06 if it weren't for the competition. We need ASton, and anyone else who can compete to drive development and R&D.

Rember the Aston Martin company was just sold by Ford. SO the AM and AMR was in flux for a bit.

ProDrive, who runs Aston Martin Racing, just led a group of Investers in purchasing Aston Martin from Ford.

Now that the sale is finalized hopefully we will see AMR back in action.

Corvette won't be in ALMS next year anyway, so don't worry about it.

Do you work for the EQUIRER or the STAR? They gave you good training in starting unsubstantiated rumors. It's such a bonus to say "just trust me, it's true". That adds such gobs of credibility, right?

Unimpressed in Arizona.

Who exactly are we racing against? Puleeeze it is terribly boring this way! When we had at it with the Vipers (Team Archer), Saleens and others there was a rivalry brewing. This Sebring was an endurance test and nothing more. There was absolutely no competition. Boring, not to mention the majority of the coverage is in the P1 class.

I wonder if GM buys Chrysler if they'll bring the Vipers back?

I heared that as well. Strong possibility, but Europe is for 08

Europe has been or to my understanding not going to happen. Team coming back to US after LM24.

We will see.

Euopean spec enclosed car haulers have been ordered-too much trouble to haul around US spec trailers
