Default How do I mount my Ultrashield Pro Roadrace seat to my Hardbar Mounts???

I'm confused... the seat has a flat bottom with no holes anywhere. All the pics I've seen show two ribs that extend below the seat and have holes in them... this is where the seat mounts, but these seats have nothing.

Help me! Do I need a different seat mount for this seat?

I mounted an Ultrashield in my C4 with Hardbar mounts. Bolt the rails to the floor and use the side pieces to extend to the side of the seat. Drills holes in the side of the seat and bolt to the side pieces, then bolt those to the rails.

How'd you measure this out? Do the bolts not poke you in the hips/thighs?

You'll never feel them through the seat pad. You can always use the, um, screw head bolts and just put the nut on the outside.

Here's the goods! The seat was $188 and cover was $93ish from racer parts wholesale... couldn't beat that price!

If you have the rail underneath it will look like this:

If you don't, you will need to assemble the rail, and drill your own holes for the side plates similar to a Sparco Evo.

Thanks Gary... only the Kirky Delux seat has those "easy mounting" ribs. But it was a $595 seat vs. the $185 that this was fom racer pats wholesale.

Like David said in anothe post.... I have a drill.

I'd just like to see pics of where people have drilled the holes.

I just figured out the "tilt" I needed, slid the rail up beside it, and drilled a hole as close to the bottom of the seat as I could. I got the intermediate Kirkey, and it doesn't have the extensions below the seat.

Anyway, I put the bolts INSIDE the seat pointing out, AND they are very low, below the pad, so you don't feel them.

You can race a Miata for less than a Corvette. They are not the same though, neither are the seats.

What does that have to do with anything? This seat is very high quality... and I'm doing 4-5 track events per season... no need for a $600 seat when a $180 will work fine.

Even the Ultrashield Delux Road Race seat and Super seat have flat bottoms... the only seat w/ pre fabbed mounting holes is the Kirkey Delux.

YOur right Miata seats are .....

I think when one really goes into a paddock and looks inside the cockpit of a real race car, you will see far more alunimum Ultra-Shields, Kirkies, Butler-Builts then you will see Sparko or Racro seats.

TTT... any pics Tom?

Is it ok that you have the 1/2" of space between the seat and the rear upright/mount? How is that bolt head angled?

Brian

I have my seat out of the car right now. Gary Sent me some updated bolts last year, and I am finnnally putting them in.

What I did with that space you mentioned was to put bolt though the seat, a washer and nut on the out side or the seat and washer and nut on each side of the mounting plate.

No issues w/ metal distortion w/ that gap? Any pics you can take would be awesome
