"During this intermission period, a ceremony will be held involving the "wheel of inversion” to determine the restart order. Numbered with positions one through five, the number that is landed on will indicate the position of the car that will make the restart in first place. If the wheel lands on one, there will be no inversion.
For the second session, cars will be lined-up in their order before the intermission, plus any inversion, and lapped cars will be placed at the back. The second session will commence with a double-file rolling restart."
Thank you NASCAR.

The entire event is a joke imho. Bad track format, bad everything. I think SCCA will come out looking even more backward than they already do (to NASCAR folk anyway).
It's ashame the Roval will be filled with RV's, as it's one of my favorites. I live 30min away, but I clear out during NASCAR season!

Bad for the racers, good for the sport. I am not a Nascar fan at all, but they have what 100x the fans. So if the WC guys and gals get some more interested fans to start watching road racing then we will win. Next thing you know more people racing, watching and $$$ for the WC.
They are just thinking big picture,

You know what, I try to watch nascar on tv, but I will tell you to me it is boring as hell. I am sure those guys are talented, but man! Do you guys think that scca is working with nascar to try to get ratings up and get more spectator involvement?

trust me guys, after running on the modified oval with the chicanes hitting almost 165mph going into the first chicane the track is a blast!
And the 5 minute pit stop is for tires so we don't over tax the DOT street tires that we race on. I am all for it.
Racing is racing. If you set up two barrels and get a stop watch, I will be there. So hopefully it will be as good as I think it will be and we can go back next year.
And to have Jimmy Johnson, Kasey Kane and maybe one other NASCAR driver in the mix will be great exposure.
Just wait to see how many beer cans get thrown on the track if a Porsche wins
See you at the races.
Thanks

Thats too funny Lou! For those that think NASCAR guys can only turn left last year Todd Bodine got to drive Mr. Whelen's C5 SWCGT at Infineon I believe and was shall we say pretty impressive!
"Maybe one other NASCAR driver" .......hmmmm who could that be? We all know if it has wheels and involves at least 2 cones and a stop watch (lol), dirt or pavement, Tony Stewart is fast, just a guess!
I was also wondering if Jace would make his debut in a LGM Corvette?
See you at the races.

well that was interesting....back from the race. The rednecks loved the standing start, but then the first caution sent half of them packing...then the "intermission" sent the other half home. I was 1 of a couple hundred left at the very end. The race was fun to watch...unfortunately, all 3 of the LG cars has issues. Lou was blowing blue smoke after the first 2 laps...peterson finished the race but at a slow pace. the solid black LG car was pitted before the first 20 min session was over. the caddies just walked away from everyone.
I think the format was poorly presented...unless you knew what was going on, you would have no clue. I think this confused the drunken crowed (go figure). Eitherway, should make for an interesting TV presentation next week, so all should watch.
BTW, nothing is boring then pole night - I watched the entire Nascar qualifing sessions...UGH, what a bore...thank god its BYOB at Lowes. For those that might care, ryan newman has the pole for sunday at 185.xxx. Jaun pablo finished around 17-18ish.
