Default Trailer question

What is a 2004, 26 ft, Featherlight enclosed trailer with aluminum interior wall and cabinets worth? Good condition, used very little according to the owner.
Just curious.

Thanks to all.

Not sure, but for comparison, I paid $15k for a brand new 40' Haulmark gooseneck with the following options:

extra foot of height
three windows
4 rooftop vents
wired and braced for AC
50 amp service
500W halogen lights on outside
all LED exterior lighting
escape door
2 underfloor storage bins
8 D rings
RV style door latches
interior lighting package (flourescents)
2 110V outlets
white vinyl type interior walls

The AL cabinets are pretty nice, and they are expensive to retrofit.

I would think $8kish would be a good deal assuming low miles and good condition.

Maybe add a grand to that if you're on the west coast.

Featherlites are much more expensive new, than "traditional" trailers. Expect to pay a premium, and expect to sell it at one as well.

I sold my 2-year old 28-ft TAG Timberwolf (company now out of business) for $7,500 in 2006. It was fairly loaded with cabinets, winch, flooring, lights, etc. Maybe this info can help just a tiny bit.

$31,000 ?? I have been looking at a Halmark 48" Goosneck two car hauler with cabinets other goodies for $24,000

There are plenty of good used 24- 28' footers for under $10,000

How much does the aluminum 26' weigh?

race junk and a used Timberwolf 26' for $8,000

and Joel What is your tow vehical?

see what you can buy one for a list price means nothing. You are buying a top line premium trailer. If money was no oblect I would look at a Featherlite. Tire condition, brakes, take a good look. Remember you can always offer low and come up even if it is the next day. What does a car devalue in the same number of year? I would go from that basis. Axle capacity is? I wouldn't want 3500 lb axles. Then ask does the premium brand mean anything to you.

I know when I was looking, it was harder than hell to find a used 24' enclosed (any make), with #5,000 axles, 48" side door. I looked for a year until I found one that was reasonably priced (~$5,000).

With my trailer (GVWR of #10,000), I'm right on the limit with car, tires, tools, spares, generator, etc.

Price is always an object.

I was looking at saving weight but now I realise there isn't that much weight savings with aluminum trailers.

I like value...name brands not important.

I think I'll start looking towards pace and haulmark - 24 ft.

What size axles? and how difficult is it to put a winch in the floor/frame?

5,000# axles. With #3,500 axles, you're almost overloaded immediately. Trailer= ~#3,000. Car = #3,300. Extra tires, tools, gas cans, spares and you're overloaded.

Wich no problem.

Thats why it has two 3500# axles, you can hall a 7k# car.

GVW is 10k lbs, and trailer ways 3k
