Default Hawk HPS vs. OEM Brakes

My question is: How much better are Hawk HPS brake pads over the OEM brake pads. I realize that Hawk HP Plus brake pads will give better stopping power over either Hawk HPS or OEM brake pads or at least they should. But I'm curious about the Hawk HPS vs. OEM pads. I found the OEM brake pads did very well at HPDE's for me so will the Hawk HPS pads be an improvement or would they be much the same? This is on a C6 Z06 which I think have very good OEM brakes to start with.

I'd be interested in hearing about this also from a C5 perspective. TTT

HPS are worse than stock C5 Z06 pads. HP+ are a little better.

I Like the stock C5Z pads better then both the HPS and HP+ both of the HP pads had far more brake dust then the stock C5Z

I would go with the C5Z pads over the HPS pads.

I find that the OEM pads are very, very dusty on the C6Z. The Hawk HPS advertize low dust. Can anyone with C6 Z06 verify this? It sounds like OEM pads on C5Z is better than Hawk HPS, how about C6Z?

Agreed. If you factor dusting in the OEM pads may be superior to both. IMO the HP+ do have a bit more stopping power.

HPS feel dangerous they have so little grip compared to stock Z06 pads, but they don't dust.

Stock Z06 pads feel good, and dust - but not excessively. These are what I have chosen to run on the street...

HP+ feel fantastic, but dust like mad.

HPSs were the first aftermarket pad I tried and they didn't stop that much better the the OEM pad and made a whole lot more noise and dust.

This is the kind of information I'm trying to find out about the C6 Z06. So far no info on the C6 Z06. Your info probably holds true for the C6 Z06 but not confirmed by anyone yet.

Thanks anyway. Still looks like no one with a C6Z has tried the Hawk HPS pads, I guess I'll have to be the Guinea Pig.
