Default How long will these rotors last??

Here's a couple pics I took of my rotors today while bleeding the brakes on my C5z06.

I have three or four trackdays on these rotors, and just wanted to know if this is 'normal', or if this means cracking is imminent. (I have a spare set of rotors ready to go on when these are done. I realize that C5Z06 rotors love to crack up after a few trackdays).

You'll notice in the last pic all the way to the right, there is a small crack that catches my fingernail if I run it along the rotor surface.

My next trackday is at Pocono North (not a fast, or heavy heavy braking course, but moderate).

Oh, FYI, I am using the Carbotech 10's on the front, and 8's in the rear. The inside face of this rotor doesn't have ANY surface cracks in it at all, and the rear rotors look brand new.

Cool. Do you normally just run them until they really crack, or swap them prior?

I'll probably run the North course in these and then swap them. Next month is the Pocono FUSA course, and that's a good 145-150mph down to 55mph on the back straight - so I'd feel more comfortable with a fresh set of rotors on there.

I started a thread recently about this--Tom said throw them out when you can catch your fingernail in the crack.

Just Prior. I always car a spare set ( pre bedded) with me in the trailer.

Those need to be relegated to back ups for the next track event. Go get another new set and break them in for your next event.

and check them after they cool not just when you first come in after running. They crack as the cool sometimes.
