one guy is an engineer and one is a pro driver and you have no idea if the GTR is stock as Nissan has been caught hyping before with non-stock cars.

I have seen both cars on track here in the states and can tell you the GT-r is more C5 Z then C6Z let alone the ZR1.

The GT-R has more power than factory as it maintains the same speed on the back straight as the ZR-1 and more than the Z06, and bot hare massively faster in a straight line.

Nissan is cheating again.

cheating bad, with 15% + drive train loss easy, how much would that car need to push out to keep up with the ZR1... 650-700 to the crank easy?

Not really. It is hyped as a world beater and it was light years behind a lightly modded ACR viper, and on tracks that both drivers knew the Z06's did better. VIR long, and MAM. And the near bone stock 996GT3 wailed on it almost everywhere. And say what you will Swan is a pretty good driver.

The GT-R is a nice car. That's just it. It's a nice car. Now once non factory cars are out there on tracks with dialed up boost, who knows but as a Z06/ZR1/ACR/997TT/GT3 killer, that it's hyped to be off the showroom floor, yeah not so much.

I just read car and drivers test of a GT2, ACR Viper, GT-r and Z06. Z06 came in last place. The Nissan came in 1st place GT2 2nd and viper 3rd. They ranted again about the fit and finish of the Z06 and about its handling. I will be glad when they compare the ZR1 to the others. On a side note, I went to TGPRX in Alabama today to do some testing on a car I will be racing at NASA in August at Road Atlanta and three Chrysler engineers were at the track with the SRT4 club. They ran a new Caliber, ACR Viper, (same car that was on Car and Driver front page) and the new Challenger with Brembro Brakes and 425hp Hemi. The ACR is a very fast car. I talked to the engineer and he said that when they are done testing it will be, weeping destroyed. The Challenger IMHO is one of the best retro cars I have seen to date. The bad news is that the car weighs in at 4100lbs and has an iron block.

4100 lbs / 425 hp = 9.65

wait that is 425 bhp so -12% ~ 375 rwhp

4100 lbs / 375rwhp = 10.93 Heck that is slower then the CMC stock division

No were near ST2 or Even A production,
