John,
We went to the 24 Hours of Daytona and we had the GRM package. We could walk around the grage area unimpeded. The only restriction we had was we could not go into the hot pits. IMO very accessible and quite interesting. I enjoy this series alot also.
Some pics I took Posting to show you really do get up close and personal

I got to the race early to walk around the paddock.
That was more fun then the race.

I go every year to the January Daytona race. Simply the race I most look forward to every year. Probably partly in reason that it is usually ten below zero and ten feet of snow on the ground here in cheeseland. The pits, gagages, and drivers are all very accessible. The racing is very competative and exciting.

I went to Grand Am back in the good old days (late 90's) when Dyson racing and the 333SP were battling for domination. Pretty cool times with the open **** pit cars. Nothing sounded like the 333, it was the most amazing sound I ever heard in my life (like an F1 car). If you were within 1/2 mile of the car at any point, you needed ear plugs...just amazing.
Since this is 40 miles from my house and I know back roads to avoid traffic, I will be there. Let me know if you are going and we can get together!
Maybe we should all coordinate our own "Corvette Forum Corral"

We went to Daytona and St. Pete for the first time this year, what a blast! Great access as noted elsewhere and you get close enough to really see what is going on in the paddock.
I was stopping just to look at the sheer volume of money involved with some of these teams. I'd like to just have their wheel and tire budget!

John Shiels and 95Jersey, Grand-Am events are very fan friendly and you can usually get in the pits no problem. If this venue is any different I will get you two in the pits regardless. While we are not running the full season I am almost positive I will be driving in this race. Just get me a way for contact via PM.

I've never seen a RoadRace which didn't allow spectators full access, except pit lane (sometimes even there as well). They need all of the spectators they can get!!!!!!!
