LTF: Trailer wall (interior) fastening advice.
I'm looking for advice and suggestions on how you guys are attaching "toe-down" anchors on the side walls. Here's the walls.
Most of the internal framework is enclosed on all four sides, so I can't get a load distributing washer inside wherever I drill. So, what are you guys doing to attach stuff to the walls (short of welding)?
thanks,
Mike

Looks like you have a featherlite like mine. I outfitted my trailer last year and I used 1/4" steel threaded inserts for everything. I am not a fan of sheetmetal or self tapping screws. It takes forever to install threaded inserts everywhere, but its the right way to do it. I have anchors at all fasteners. My walls are all load bearing and my tire rack and cabinets will distort from excessive weight before the fasteners are stressed. Sorry no photos.
I also designed and built a trick winch mount that grabs 5 of the beams from the bottom so I can pull just about anything up with the winch and not have anything distort.

I have E-track mounted on my walls with shoring beams going across the trailer as tire-racks. I mount the e-track with 3/16" rivets. I buy the heavy duty rivets, aluminum with a steel pull-pin.
I've not used the self-tapping screws mentioned above, but regular self-tapping screws will vibrate loose in a trailer. Rivets seem to hold up very well.
