Default Drop Spindles on a track car

Anybody have any experience with driving a corvette with drop spindles on the track? What adjustments to the suspension would you have to make since the center of gravity, the roll center, and the roll stiffness are going to change?

^^I believe LG runs on dropped spindles. Might try dropping Anthony or Lewis a PM on the subject.

Darn right we did.

Depending on what you are going to do with the car, and how low the car needs to run they can make a drastic change in how the car handles.

Right off the bat they drop the car 1" over stock with no other changes. Of course control arms do not change angle.

Camber and Caster are increased, again with no other changes. Bump Steer has been corrected (you still need a bump steer adjustment kit depending on ride height).

Of course center of gravity is dropped as the entire car is dropped.

I should also add that we should have a forged drop spindle out this holiday season as well....with a dramatic drop in pricing.

bad economy lower please. As you know a lot is always relative. Plus they don't blow up like a motor.

Me like the newer price. The "a lot" price is a hard sell. But they do work very well. The last 4 or 5 racecars we have built have rocked the LG Uprights.

Just what the market is looking for ....reasonably priced drop spindles.

I am assuming the new forged pieces wil share the same geometry as the billet ones ????

To answer the question: you need to run a shock length that is close to stock. The shorter coil over set ups that we have all been selling for years will be about an inch too short, which will have your suspension topping out over rises in the track.

You will not need to run as big of a sway bar as the "Arm" length between roll center and center of gravity will not be as long. This makes the car work better on broken or bumpy pavement. We found that we don't need to run as much static negative camber either, which helps in contact patch for braking and accelerating.

Our modular drop spindle allows you to shim upper ball joint height for fine tuning roll center and camber curve. Our modular steering knuckle is shimable too so you can effect ackerman, and speed up or slow down your steering as well. Our modular brake caliper mount system will allow lower unsprung weight for calipers using radial stud mounting.
